becoming a vegetarian is the stepping stone for becoming religious

What is the purpose of religion? How the faith and fear of God of individuals helpful for the society.I am not arguing about the existence of God,but the advantages of living in a religious society.A religious person will always have fear in doing harm to his neighbours.Hence the fear of God will help him in leading a good life. This is true for any religion in the world.
Similarly, while thinking a little more broadly ,doing harm to any creatures in the world is also not religious. No religion in the world advocate killing of Animals. They are also creatures with flesh and pain.Hence your love towards humanity should start with the love towards any innocent creature in the earth.I am very sure that no religious man can wholeheartedly accept Killing of animals/Birds for food. Many may question me by quoting from "Koran" that the animals and birds are created for men as per Islam. But if you go little deep into Koran ,then You realise that it does not advocate merciless killing of animals. When no other source of food is available-as a last resort you can kill animals for your existence.Further, note that the Holy Koran was written as per the prevailing conditions of Arabian countries in BC 600.
In the Indian context, the non-vegetarianism was propagated by Britishers like "lord Macaulay"during their rule-for their own advantages. We have a heritage/tradition of Non violence/Ahimsa.With westernisation educated society forgotten the benefit of our food tradition and increasingly started consuming non vegetarian food-thinking that it is more nutritious and good for gaining physical and mental strength. But the truth is just opposite. The movement of vegetarianism in western world in recent past advocates the need for vegetarianism. The animal proteans or fats are not healthy. The relation between non vegetarian food and cancer , Psychological disorders and increase in social crimes are under study.
In states like Kerala now vegetarians are " species under threat of extinction"
In my child hood ,in our Village in a number of houses only vegetarian dishes were prepared."Nairs" in our village were traditionally vegetarians. But now living as vegetarian is out of fashion. Is this real development?
You will not become religious just by going to Temple,Church or mosque. But your faith will definitely acknowledged by the god when you start loving all creatures in this world

Veganism ..

I was a non-vegetarian 25 years ago.. Now for the past two years I am trying to be a Vegan. It is really heart rending to see our fellow animals being tortured for meat and milk.. The avarice for money and fame has made the dress clad Humans to become a Humanimal.. Even the wild animals seem to be better than these Humanimals which believe that drinking milk and eating the corpse of the body give strenth.. They fail to understand that the very animals they kill and eat, consume plant based food only.. What the world needs is awarness about this truth..

vegan lifestyle

I've been vegan for more than a year now and I feel, of all the decisions I've made, this one is definitely a right one. Turning vegan has made me happier than ever before. I've never felt better (mentally) and healthier than now.

Everyone should go vegan
